COURSE OVERVIEW

When applied to the Qur’an, it involves assigning each letter of the Qur’an its own set of rights and obligations in terms of characteristics.The Quran is Allah’s word, and every phrase in it comes from Him. The reciting of it must be considered seriously. The goal of Tajweed is for the reciter to be proficient in reciting the Qur’an while adhering to the right pronunciation of each letter as well as the rules and characteristics that apply to each letter, without exaggeration or deficiency. So, it is obligatory for us to learn these rules so that we can recite the holy Quran in the way it was revealed.

Allah SWT said,

And recite the Qur’an with measured recitation.” [Surat Al-Muzzammil 73:4]

The Quran says clearly that the Quran should be read and recited accurately without ambiguity. This Tajweed course is designed to teach you a set of linguistic and pronunciation standards used in reciting the Quran so that you can recite it correctly, just like Prophet Muhammad (SAW) did.

The benefits of learning Tajweed has described by Aa’ishah, May Allah be pleased with her. She Said,
Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward. – [Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 4937]

Again It was narrated from Abu Sa`eed Al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“It will be said to the companion of the Qur’an when he enters Paradise: ‘Recite and rise one degree for every Verse,’ until he recites the last thing that he knows.” – [Sunan Ibn Majah 3780]

This is a basic course that will build in you a love for reciting the Quran. This tajweed course presents a step-by-step method to learning each of the Tajweed rules, with recitation practice following each session to strengthen your knowledge and abilities. Weekly tests are performed on Fridays in this course to evaluate the students’ performance. A different tutor is normally in charge of these tests.
